Drip Coffee
The secret to great drip coffee is simple: Weigh Your Coffee, Measure Your Water. By weighing and measuring, you ensure consistent results every time.
Follow the Golden Cup Ratio*:
2 Tbsp ground coffee to 6oz water
- or -
55 grams of coffee to 1 liter of water
Measuring coffee in grams gives you more precision, is easier to remember, and easier to use for different amounts of coffee:
11 g coffee : 200 ml water (7 oz)
22 g coffee : 400 ml water (14 oz)
33 g coffee : 600 ml water (21 oz)
44 g coffee : 800 ml water (28 oz)
55 g coffee : 1 L water (35 oz)
66 g : 1.2 L water (42 oz)
For stronger coffee, try 56g-60g coffee per liter of water.
More Tips:
Pre-wet your paper filter (avoids tasting the paper)
Brewing temp between 195°F.-205°F. will bring out the most flavor. For a list of SCA-certified home brewers meeting this standard, click here: https://sca.coffee/certified-home-brewer
*This ratio is recommended by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) as part of their Golden Cup Standard*
