Brew Guide for Pour-over
Makes two 200ml (~7oz) cups
- 22g coffee, ground medium-fine (slightly coarser than drip)
- 400ml water for brewing
- Additional water for pre-heating
Instructions
- Set empty pour-over filter basket on top of carafe. Preheat by pouring 200° F water through filter to eliminate paper taste. Discard water.
- Place grounds in moistened filter basket
- Heat fresh water in kettle to 200° F, tiny bubbles will start rising to the surface
- Pour 50g of water over the coffee, saturating all grounds
- Allow grounds to bloom for 30 seconds
- Slowly pour remaining 350g of hot water over the coffee for the next 2.5-3 minutes, keeping filter basket half filled with water while brewing
- Remove the filter after all water has been poured and drips have slowed
- Pour into cups and serve immediately
