For the most balanced and nuanced flavor, we recommend 1 part coffee to 18 parts water, varying the amount of coffee +/-10%. This is the Golden Cup ratio published by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

The Specialty Coffee Association's (SCA) Golden Cup standard is 55g of coffee to one liter of water (+/- 10%). A typical coffee scoop holds approx. 1 Tbsp. of ground coffee (~4.9g); darker roasts will tend to weigh less than lighter roasts.
