Coffee Usage Calculator
Estimate how much coffee you'll go through — for your everyday routine, or a one-time event like a dinner party or family gathering.
Select how you brew, serving size, number of servings per day, and the number of drinkers.
Default settings estimate coffee usage over 7 days and buying coffee every 14 days, but you can set this differently as needed.
Espresso is dosed by dry weight, not water volume — that dose is what determines how much coffee you go through, regardless of how much milk or water ends up in the finished drink.
Enter either or both — if you fill in serving size too, the ratio above will show what that combination works out to.
Defaults: Drip and French Press 1:18 (SCA Golden Cup), Pour-Over 1:15 (a common starting point, which can vary by pour-over equipment used), AeroPress 1:15 (filter-style). Espresso is dosed rather than ratio-brewed; 18g is the standard double-shot dose (SCA/specialty convention, 1:2 dose-to-yield). All starting points can be adjusted to match how you actually brew.
Scoops mode: a standard coffee scoop is one level Tablespoon, which converts to roughly 4.9g of ground coffee. Default coffee-to-water ratio is the industry standard of two level tablespoons per 6 fl oz. (the Golden Cup ratio). Totals in scoops mode are shown as coffee weight — oz/lb, or g/kg in Metric.
